This evening I'll be talking live to Ali Murphy, the ED of Craft NB, about my practice in the time of COVID and anything else that takes our fancy. Tune in at 6pm today, Tuesday the 9th on Instagram @craftnbmetiersdart
Solstice approaches. Light yo houses.
Repotting some of my poor neglected houseplants today. They don't get much attention in the summer but I'll certainly appreciate their greeness come January.
Prepping these prints to be stitched! After my residency @fredbotanicgarden this summer I have a great collection of designs to work with over the winter.
So happy this crow made its way to Fredericton.
Thanks to Ralph Simpson for handing-me-down this gorgeous, functional dip pen - much better than any ink pen I've used in the past. It's sure going to come in handy with the new ink-making obsession I can feel coming on...
A little insect block print created during my residency. I think that when the group exhibition opens on September 19th, I'll print up a bunch of these to give out.
Meanwhile, back at the homestead:
Very pleased with this piece created @fredbotanic garden residency. Handsome flies. Swipe to see the process and the outcome.
I already miss this being my studio. The experience inspires me to get outdoors with my work. Sometimes friendly visitors dropped by from the trees above. @fredbotanicgarden
Some of the many (many MANY) images I took of droplets one morning after a hard rain. These too will become repeat patterns.
This is my last residency day in the Fredericton Botanic Garden. While here I've had the opportunity to dig my roots down deep into my interests. I've planted seeds of so many ideas, and created with all my faculties. I can't ask for a lot more than that.
Why doesn't my husband ever take me on flowertop dates? Looks dreamy. ;)
Went trucking around in the creek @fredbotanicgarden. Swipe to see my discoveries! #doratheexplorer ;)
